With their serenades to the police forces, the humor, the parties and hospitality, the Irish have made the European Championship a lot more fun for us. But now the European Championship is over, we should go to Ireland and visit them. Five reasons why we should pay a visit to the Irish!
1. Celebrating our jointly loss at the summer festivals
We’ve seen them doing it before, the Irish know how to create an atmosphere and they are not planning to stop that. This summer there are several festivals organized in Ireland, with delicious food, good music and fine art. The whole country is joining and is making sure that this summer is going to be a festive one.
2. Lovers of food and drink
The Irish not only love good food and drink, but they are also really good in cooking themselves and brewing beer and the distillate the best whiskeys. With their many rivers and vast coast at the Atlantic Ocean, they have access to the freshest fish. They won’t serve you Fish ‘n Chips, but freshly smoked salmon and oysters. Besides good cooking, the Irish are also known for their brewing and distillation skills, just think of Guiness Beer and Jameson whiskey. North-Ireland even has the theme ‘The Year of Food and Drink’ this year, in other words enjoying the lovely flavors of Ireland the whole year round.

3. Not only the people are special
The Irish are not only special people; they also live in a special country. As Ireland offers impressive landscapes where you can dream off and fully experience the Irish feeling. With special residence addresses as a typical Irish cottage, a lighthouse with stunning viws or a historical castle, you will feel like a true Irish
4. Irish are hospitable
Thanks to their welcoming attitude, they are not only welcome in almost every single country of the world, they have a great hospitality themselves and welcome everyone with a warm hart to Ireland. Think of the charming Bed and Breakfasts where you are pampered by the Irish hosts and hostesses and the Irish pubs where you will be warmly welcomed with a dark Guinness and live music. The Irish love others and they show it as often as they can.
5. The Irish are ‘filmgenic’
The Irish are not only popular in film clips on the internet, but the Irish landscape is also a well-known film set. With untouched nature, beautiful coastlines and idyllic villages it is a film set for a variety of genres. There have already been a lot of series and movies that have been filmed in the country of our favorite supporters. Game of Thrones, Star Wars, The Boondock Saints, Braveheart and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince were all (partly) filmed in Ireland. So when you are in Ireland, don’t just enjoy the incredible nature and friendly people, but also discover special film locations and imagine yourself being in your favorite series or movie.
